Wilderness Landscape & Natural Heritage

Albany Wildlife Management Area (WMA) encompasses approximately 3,000 acres of forested and riparian habitat located near the town of Albany in northern West Virginia. This area is managed by the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources and is primarily focused on conservation and sustainable hunting practices. The WMA includes a diverse landscape of hardwood forests, streams, and small wetlands, supporting a range of wildlife species including white-tailed deer, wild turkey, small game, and various songbirds. Fishing is a popular activity here, with the presence of streams stocked with trout and habitat suitable for warm-water species.
