Odaesan National Park

Odaesan National Park spans the eastern region of Gangwon Province and is distinguished by its five prominent peaks—known collectively as 'Odaesan,' meaning 'Five Platforms Mountain.' The park covers forested ridges formed by the Taebaek Mountains, featuring mixed hardwood and coniferous forests, and hosting a diverse range of flora such as Korean fir, Mongolian oak, and rare species like the Manchurian fir. Its elevation varies from about 300 to over 1,500 meters, creating varied microclimates that support wildlife including Asiatic black bears, musk deer, and a variety of bird species.
