About Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park

Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park is a stunning marine and island park famous for its crystal-clear waters, dramatic limestone cliffs, and vibrant coral reefs, offering world-class snorkeling, diving, and island exploration.

Wilderness Landscape & Natural Heritage

Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park is a protected area in the Andaman Sea off the coast of southern Thailand, encompassing six major islands and numerous smaller islets. The park covers approximately 102 square kilometers of land and marine areas, including the famous Phi Phi Islands. Known for their towering limestone cliffs, white sandy beaches, and turquoise waters, these islands provide an exceptional natural setting for outdoor activities. The park’s ecosystem includes diverse marine life with coral reefs, tropical fish species, and sea turtles, as well as limited terrestrial wildlife within the island forests. Established in 1983, Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park has become one of Thailand’s most popular marine destinations. Visitors can enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving to explore the rich underwater habitats, hiking trails that lead to viewpoints with panoramic vistas, kayaking around the islands, and relaxing on pristine beaches. Notable landmarks include Maya Bay, made globally famous by the film “The Beach,” Viking Cave with its historical significance, and Phi Phi Viewpoint which offers spectacular island panoramas. The park’s management balances conservation efforts with sustainable tourism, aiming to protect fragile coral reefs and minimize environmental impact from increasing visitation. Its blend of dramatic landscapes, rich biodiversity, and recreational offerings attracts both nature enthusiasts and adventure travelers seeking an iconic tropical island experience.
