Williamson Marsh Forest Preserve is located in southern Illinois and encompasses a variety of ecosystems including hardwood forests, marshlands, and small wetlands. The preserve provides critical habitat for native wildlife such as migratory birds, amphibians, and small mammals. The peaceful setting and diversity of bird species attract both casual visitors and serious naturalists. Seasonal variations provide different experiences, from wildflowers in spring to waterfowl in winter.
