Knuckles Conservation Forest is located in central Sri Lanka, part of the districts of Matale and Kandy. This remarkable area is renowned for its rugged mountain ranges, shrouded in mist and rich in biodiversity. The forest is named for its resemblance to a set of knuckles, with five prominent peaks that dominate the skyline. The Knuckles Range supports a diverse array of flora and fauna, including over 1,000 species of flowering plants and a variety of endemic wildlife, such as the Knuckles Rock Frog and the Sri Lankan Leopard. The area's unique environment has earned it the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
