Wilderness Landscape & Natural Heritage
Baimoxue National Forest Park is situated in the Minshan mountain range of northern Sichuan Province, China. Its name, which translates to "White Foam Snow," refers to the park’s signature snow-covered landscapes during the colder months. The park encompasses high-altitude mixed conifer forests, alpine meadows, and glacial valleys, supporting a rich diversity of wildlife including the endangered giant panda, Sichuan takin, and various bird species. The terrain is characterized by steep ridges, crystal-clear mountain streams, and several glacial lakes, making it a scenic destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Historically, the region was part of ancient trade routes and has cultural significance tied to Tibetan and Qiang ethnic groups. Visitors can explore well-maintained trails for hiking and mountain biking, while designated areas provide opportunities for picnicking, camping, and wildlife viewing. The park’s proximity to the Heishui and Songpan counties makes it accessible yet relatively undisturbed, appealing to those seeking both adventure and tranquility. Notable landmarks include the Snow Lotus Peak, recognized for its year-round snowfields, and the Valley of Blue Ice, known for stunning glacier formations.
