Indian Springs Metropark, part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system, encompasses over 2,200 acres of protected natural area in Oakland County, Michigan. The park features a variety of landscapes including wetlands, woodlands, prairie, and glacial kettle lakes, preserving important habitats for many native species. Founded in 1947, Indian Springs was the first park created by the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system and is recognized for its pioneering role in environmental education and research. Visitors can explore a network of well-maintained trails suited for hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing during winter months. The park also offers a unique 16-acre natural wildflower prairie and the historic turn-of-the-century Indian Springs Bathhouse, which reflects early water-based recreational heritage. Rich in wildlife, the park is home to songbirds, deer, turtles, and seasonal waterfowl, attracting bird watchers and photographers.
