Wilderness Landscape & Natural Heritage
Jeziorsko Landscape Park, established in 1989, is a protected area situated in the Łódź Voivodeship of central Poland. The park centers around the Jeziorsko Reservoir, a large artificial lake created on the Warta River, which serves both flood control and recreational purposes. Spanning approximately 11,700 hectares, the park encompasses extensive floodplains, wetlands, forests, and meadows, forming a mosaic of diverse habitats. The wetlands and floodplain forests are especially vital habitats for migratory and breeding birds, making the park a premier birdwatching destination. Notably, the area supports populations of rare and protected species such as the white-tailed eagle, black stork, and Eurasian beaver. Visitors to Jeziorsko Landscape Park can explore a network of marked trails suitable for hiking and cycling, alongside fishing and canoeing opportunities on the reservoir and Warta River. The park also features several observation towers and designated nature education paths. Its combination of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, along with peaceful natural scenery, appeals to nature lovers, photographers, and outdoor enthusiasts seeking a tranquil Central European landscape. The cultural history of the area is visible in traditional villages and historical church sites nestled within the park boundaries, offering an additional layer of visitor interest. With easy access from nearby towns such as Sieradz and Wieluń, Jeziorsko Landscape Park provides a compelling blend of ecological richness and outdoor recreation for visitors year-round.
