The Wet Tropics of Queensland is a globally significant World Heritage Site located in northeastern Australia within the state of Queensland. Covering approximately 1.85 million hectares, it is renowned for its ancient tropical rainforests, some of the oldest on earth, dating back over 100 million years. This lush landscape consists of rugged mountains, deep gorges, and vibrant rivers, providing a habitat for a rich diversity of flora and fauna. The area is home to more than 370 rare plant species and numerous animal species, including the endangered Southern Cassowary and the Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo.
