Delaware County Park Adventures

Delaware County Park is a 3,600-acre parkland complex situated in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, southwest of Philadelphia. It comprises four interconnected parks – Tyler Arboretum, Rose Tree, Ridley Creek State Park, and the encompassing Ridley Creek and Crum Creek reservations – providing a diverse landscape of woodlands, rolling meadows, and freshwater streams. The park’s central waterbody, Rose Tree Reservoir, supports fishing and non-motorized boating. Much of the park’s forested areas are dominated by oak, hickory, and tulip poplar trees, supporting a variety of native wildlife such as white-tailed deer, red foxes, and a wide range of songbirds. The park has historic roots dating back to the early 20th century and features several preserved historic structures, including colonial-era farm buildings and the Tyler Arboretum, which is one of the oldest arboretums in the United States.
