About Gibraltar Botanic Gardens
The Gibraltar Botanic Gardens, also known as La Alameda Gardens, are situated in Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory. Covering an area of approximately 15 acres, these gardens serve as a picturesque setting ideal for leisurely strolls and botanical education. Established in 1816, the gardens were created to provide a place of relaxation for off-duty British soldiers and are now home to a wide variety of Mediterranean and subtropical plant species.
