About this landmark
Wildwood Boardwalk is a lively oceanfront promenade located in the vibrant city of Wildwood, New Jersey. Known for its colorful, oversized beach balls lining the wide pathway, this stretch of boardwalk offers a timeless beachside experience unique to the Jersey Shore. Stretching over 2.5 miles along the Atlantic Ocean, it provides unmatched access to sandy beaches and ocean breezes. While the boardwalk itself is a human-made structure, the natural charm comes from the expansive Atlantic coastline and the gently sloping sandy shores that characterize this part of the New Jersey coast.
The area is famed for its broad beachfront, known for wide, soft sand perfect for sunbathing, beach sports, and casual seaside relaxation. The ocean’s temperate waters invite swimming and cooling off during warm summer months. Wildwood has a rich history as a family-oriented vacation spot since the early 20th century, attracting generations who return to enjoy its iconic feel and nearby nature.
While the boardwalk buzzes with amusements, shops, and eateries, the natural setting dominates with its fresh ocean air, rhythmic waves, and open skies that make Wildwood special.
