Botanical World Adventures, located in Hakalau on the scenic Hamakua Coast of Hawaii, offers outdoor adventures and immersive garden experiences for families and active travelers. The site features Zip Isle Zip Line Adventures, a multi-line zip experience with eight ziplines and a suspension bridge that sweeps across waterfalls and rainforest canopy. Visitors can also explore vast tropical gardens, including the world's second-largest Herbaceous Maze and a diverse arboretum.
The operation runs a variety of guided and self-guided options. The Jungle Falls Bike Adventure follows the historic Old Mamalahoa Highway, passing early 1900s bridges, plantation villages, and cascades fed by streams from Mauna Kea. The Hakalau Segway Mala Pua Tour provides 90-minute guided Segway rides through garden trails and viewpoints — noted as the Big Island's only Segway experience on site. For a more relaxed visit, the Self-Guided Garden Tour Day Pass includes an audio tour, access to the maze and arboretum, and views of Kamaee Falls and endemic stream fish.
All experiences emphasize the region's natural beauty and cultural history, from Hawaii's sugar industry remnants along the Mamalahoa Highway to the botanical diversity curated across the property. Botanical World Adventures is positioned as a reliable option for outdoor recreation and nature-focused sightseeing on the Hamakua Coast, combining active tours with botanical education and scenic vistas of Mauna Kea and the Pacific Ocean.
