The tour begins with morning light slicing between karst towers as a private car winds away from Guilin toward Yangshuo. On arrival the mountains close in—sheer limestone ribs rising like stacked waves—and the Ruyi Peak ropeway lifts you above terraces and gullies, the gondola pausing while the valley exhales below.
easy.
8 hours.
Suitable for most fitness levels — requires short walks, standing and getting on/off raft and gondola.
The operator offers hotel pickup in Guilin and returns you to your Guilin or Yangshuo hotel at the end of the day.
Bamboo boats normally accommodate two adults; policy notes children must be accompanied and very young children under 5 and adults over 70 may be restricted.
The gondolas are standard enclosed cabins with safety systems; however, the viewpoints and glass-bottom skywalk may feel exposed for those with a fear of heights.
This is a private tour with an included guide; language capability varies by booking—confirm English or other language requirements at reservation.
Yangshuo sits within a landscape admired in Chinese literati painting for centuries; local villages still show traditional mud-brick architecture and terraces.
Stick to marked paths and avoid tossing waste into the river—tourism pressure and litter affect river habitats and karst vegetation; choose operators who follow local waste practices.
