Yangpyeong sits on the outer edge of Seoul’s basin where gentle hills give way to river flats; its soils are river alluvium cut by small valleys and stream channels that still sing after rain. Gudun Station, a wooden, out-of-service stop, carries a mid-century railway atmosphere—its boards and iron fittings now play a supporting role in Korean film and music video culture and are listed among Korea’s cultural properties. Between those quiet, staged landscapes is Yangpyeong Mul-margeun Sijang, a working traditional market where food stalls and customers form the present-day backdrop.
Expect a largely accessible, low-impact day: mostly short walks, framed photo opportunities, market browsing, and a comfortable transfer in an air-conditioned vehicle. Bring a camera, modest walking shoes, water and cash for market snacks; timing your visit in late afternoon gives softer light for photos and cooler temperatures in summer. Note the tour is about 5–6 hours and fits most fitness levels but isn’t recommended for visitors with serious spinal, heart, or pregnancy concerns.
Practical tip: charge your phone before departure, carry a thin rain shell in spring/fall, and leave large tripods at home—some photo spots are compact and busy.

Gudun Station operated as a temporary rail stop until 2012 and later became a cultural filming site; Yangpyeong has long been a river-valley agricultural town on Seoul’s periphery.
Seohuri Forest is managed for both visitor access and habitat preservation—stay on marked paths and avoid picking plants to limit impact.
