Adventure Tips

Check tides and currents

Optimal surf fishing depends heavily on timing your trip with incoming or outgoing tides to increase catch chances.

Use appropriate gear

Light to medium spinning tackles and durable corrosion-resistant reels are best for saltwater surf fishing.

Wear sun protection

Even evening sessions benefit from UV-blocking clothing and hats; lighting doesn’t eliminate sun exposure entirely.

Respect local wildlife

Be mindful of protected dunes and native plants when accessing fishing spots along the beach.

Local Insights

Wildlife

  • Atlantic bottlenose dolphins offshore
  • Snowy egrets and coastal shorebirds on the beach
