Our Women Rock: Rock Basics: An introduction to the fundamentals of Outdoor Rock Climbing is a supportive, women-centered climbing experience designed for beginners or those new to outdoor climbing. Led by experienced ACMG-certified female instructors, this one-day course creates a comfortable, empowering environment to learn the essentials of climbing. You'll cover basic safety, tying in, belaying, and effective communication while building confidence and camaraderie with other women climbers.
Beginner: Ideal for those who have never climbed before or are looking to get back into the sport. You'll learn the basics of climbing techniques, belaying, and safety procedures. Climbing will be on easier routes with shorter durations. Fitness Level: Moderate Experience Level: No prior climbing experience necessary Grade: Indoor routes: 5.5-5.8 (YDS) Focus: Learning basic climbing techniques, belaying, safety practices Example: Top-rope climbing on easy, short routes

The Women’s Intro to Rock Climbing course is the perfect starting point for women looking to build confidence and skills in the outdoors. Designed for beginners or those transitioning to outdoor climbing, this course covers all the basics, from belaying and climbing techniques to safety and communication. After completing this course, participants are encouraged to further their climbing journey with our Learn to Lead Sport Climbing or Master the Rack Trad courses, which provide more advanced training in lead climbing. For those seeking a unique climbing experience, we also offer guided multi-pitch days on Vancouver Island or in Squamish, tailored to your goals and abilities. Whether you’re new to climbing or ready to take on bigger challenges, we’ve got the perfect next step for you!
