Full description

Is you dream just to stay in a Wilderness Cabin by the river and also have the chance to see the Aurora lights with no electricity and no neighbors around you? Then this is the perfect spot!

We have a 2 magical small cabins by the river and one Mongolian Yurt that you can spend the night in. You can choose what accommodation you want, between cabin and Yurt.

Day 1

We meet you up at your pickup point in Kiruna city after lunch at 13.00 and we take you out to our Safari Base only 4 km outside of Kiruna.

We load everything up in trailers behind snowmobiles and take a 8km beautiful ride down to the Rautas river and the cabin. The area is surrounded by wildlife and along the trail we are likely to see the animals or their footprints in the snow

The camp is about 50 meters from the river. Here you can settle, you are now truly "off-grid". The little bit of electricity we have comes mainly from solar energy. We are far away from any city lights, which is a great condition for spotting the northern lights at night.

Here we have wood heated cabins and a Yurt where you can warm up after your snowmobile tour with hot tea and coffee. The cabins where you will will be sleeping in are well-insulated and are equipped with beds, sleeping bags and pillows.

After getting installed in your cabins we will do some "basic survival" activities. That is, preparing firewood to heat your cabin and the sauna and bring up fresh drinking water from the river, all under the know-how of your guide to make it fun and safe. The Rautas river is one of the few remaining rivers unaffected by human activities and the water is perfectly clean.

We will serve local food made of reindeer, moose or fish. Normally, followed by a cup of coffee/tea and a cookie. We can also provide vegetation food, just let us know beforehand.

In the evening we will heat up your sauna for you. The cabins have a perfect location to see the Aurora from and we love to show it to you. You can choose to stay along at the cabins for the night, or with the guide.

Day 2

The next we will serve you breakfast. After the breakfast we will take the snowmobiles back through the forst to the Safari base and kennel where we have around 70 sled dogs and sometimes puppies. By request you can add the option to have a sled dog tour when you come back to the kennel.

We will then transfer you back to your preferred location in Kiruna around 12:00.
