The Winter Wild Weekend is a relaxing mid-winter adventure retreat.
Maybe you just need a break from your routine, or some headspace to get inspired for your next adventure. Maybe you're looking to learn new skills or to push yourself and try something different. Or maybe you just want some time to relax, indulge and laugh away the mid-winter blues.
Whatever your motives, we’ve got you covered with some TLC and adventure fun.
The weekend kicks off early Friday evening and finishes at lunchtime on Sunday. It takes place at the Deanfield Outdoor Centre, deep in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.
The venue is a comfortable, centrally-heated, and well-equipped outdoor education centre. We have the run of the outdoor centre and all its private gardens and facilities. The whole event is women-only from start to finish, including all our staff.
Please note that most women attend on their own....so don't be put off if you don't know anyone going or haven't done a LHW event before!
The final schedule is released nearer the time, but you can expect to be able to choose from:
– Adventurous activities – Bushcraft sessions – Yoga or meditation workshops – Inspiration talks – Outdoor skills and personal development workshops
The accommodation will be spread across twenty-two bedrooms, so most people will be sharing a room with another woman.
The venue has a cosy lounge, dining room and conference room, so we will have plenty of comfortable communal space to kick back and relax. There are ample hot showers and private washrooms, and a heated drying room for storing wet coats - it might be winter, but we can still be comfortable!
Meals will be a team effort and we encourage everyone attending to sign up to help for 20 minutes at some point over the weekend to assist with prepping food or tidying away dishes. Due to the nature of the adventure activities on offer, this is an alcohol-free weekend.
We will be setting aside a dedicated reflection space for those that need a place for quiet relaxation or prayer. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions ahead of booking.
LHW Patrons receive a £20 discount on the ticket price. You can learn more or sign up to become a LHW Patron Here.
