About This Adventure

Join an immersive eight-hour AIARE Avalanche Rescue course, where expert instructors guide you through essential rescue techniques, from companion rescues to handling multiple burials. Available from December to March in the stunning Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons, this unique experience equips you with vital skills for winter safety.

The AIARE Avalanche Rescue or AAA accredited curriculum is a one-day course intended to teach the current best practices in rescue techniques and gear.

About

This eight-hour program gets in-depth on best practices in avalanche rescue. Your instructors will cover everything from companion rescue to multiple burials and evacuation considerations. This course will be either an AIARE curriculum or our AAA approved curriculum based on instructor availability.

  • Rescue reference card
  • RRA has Beacons, shovels probes and packs for those that need them.
  • Students should provide their own touring equipment. However, Red River has a fleet of demo Black Diamond AT skis and Chimera/Pallas splitboards. Please let us know if you will need a setup
