Herdade da Rocha Boutique Lodge is a vineyard estate and boutique hospitality venue located in Aldeia da Mata, in the Portalegre district of Alentejo. The property combines a small-scale boutique lodge atmosphere with on-site winery facilities, offering visitors guided cellar tours, structured tastings and seasonal vineyard activities.
Visitors can join a range of experiences from brief educational visits to immersive full-day activities. Tastings include signature three-wine formats, monovarietal sessions that highlight Portuguese grapes, and a special sensory tasting presented in unique bowls designed by Siza Vieira. The estate also stages a traditional grape harvest experience (Dia de vindima) featuring vineyard work, snacks and a three-course lunch paired with estate wines.
The lodge offers relaxed outdoor options such as a seasonal picnic (available April–October) showcasing regional flavors and house wines, as well as combined tour-and-meal packages for a fuller enotourism experience. Small-group and couple-focused formats include cheese-paired tastings. A concise guided “Visita à adega” explains production areas and estate history for visitors who prefer a non-tasting tour.
Herdade da Rocha Boutique Lodge presents clear, structured experiences led by guides familiar with the winery’s philosophy and terroir. The programs are suitable for both novice visitors and experienced wine enthusiasts seeking focused education or relaxed, scenic tasting moments in Alentejo.
