Quinta de Adorigo
Discover the rich heritage and stunning landscapes of Portugal’s Douro Valley with a barrel tasting and regional lunch at Quinta de Adorigo. An unforgettable wine journey awaits!
Quinta de Adorigo is a family-owned vineyard and winery located in Tabuaço, Viseu, in Portugal’s Douro region. The estate focuses on guided vineyard and winery visits that highlight traditional viticulture, old vines and the cellar’s historic features.
Guests can choose from a range of experiences that combine landscape, history and tasting: a barrel tasting paired with a Traditional Flavours Lunch hosted by the winemaker; a Premium Experience tour through the Old Vineyard and the Chapel of Saint Anthony with a guided tasting of six wines and artisanal pairings; and a Terroir-focused tour of the Old Vines and Winery followed by a tasting of four estate wines with regional cheeses, rustic bread and estate olive oil.
Visits are led by knowledgeable local guides and involve direct interaction with the winemaking process, including sampling wines at source and learning about grape varieties and cellar practices. Meals and pairings emphasize regional ingredients prepared to complement the estate’s wines. The property’s settings — historic vines, a small chapel, and the working winery — provide context for the tastings and tours.
Quinta de Adorigo operates by appointment and structures experiences to suit small groups, making tours intimate and informative. The combination of on-site tastings, guided cellar access and locally sourced food offers guests an authentic Douro wine experience rooted in place and practice. Tastings vary by experience — the lunch pairs five wines, the premium tasting presents six wines with cheese and olive oil, and the terroir tour features four wines highlighting local grape varieties and seasonal pairings.
