About

Our winery was founded in 1877 by Henrique Menezes Borges, who devoted his entire life to searching for a selection of wines produced on the Island of Madeira, for ageing wine. It is currently managed by the fourth generation of his family.

The company's premises are located in the centre of Funchal, in a centenary building, built on a plot with approximately 1,600M2 and it has been in activity since 1924.

Due to the growing demand and the high level of product awareness in an increasingly demanding market, the company has adopted a new strategy, which resulted in the product's image make-over as well as a new corporate image. The increase in sales to all countries, confirms and supports this contemporary attitude reflected in the new image and sustained in the quality of the MADEIRA WINE.
