Adventure Tips

Prepare for Unpredictable Weather

Bring waterproof gear and layered clothing, as weather conditions can change rapidly along the Otago coastline.

Bring Binoculars

A good pair of binoculars enhances spotting distant seabirds and penguins without disturbing them.

Stay Quiet and Respectful

Keep noise levels low near penguin nesting sites to avoid disturbing these sensitive birds.

Wear Non-Slip Footwear

The boat deck and shoreline paths can be slippery—sturdy shoes will ensure safe footing.
