Esteso su una superficie di oltre 20.000 mq, il Parco Gola del Tinazzo offre al visitatore un suggestivo interesse floristico-vegetazionale grazie alla sua articolata morfologia, al clima locale e alla natura della roccia di cui è costitutito.

Due enormi pareti, alte più di 40 metri, fanno da ali all’ingresso della gola lungo la quale, nel corso dei millenni, sono transitate centinaia di milioni di metri cubi di sabbia e roccia che hanno raggiunto il lago d’Iseo trasportate dalla forza impetuosa delle acque del torrente Borlezza.

Il Parco, pur essendo di dimensioni limitate, è contraddistinto da un ricco mosaico di ambienti, ognuno dei quali ospita una fauna caratteristica. Il bosco ceduo, dominato dagli alberi di carpino e orniello, accoglie i più tipici rappresentanti della fauna prealpina, come ad esempio il capriolo, la volpe, la faina, il tasso, la lepre, lo scoiattolo, il ghiro e numerose specie di uccelli. I prati terrazzati, coltivati a ulivo, rappresentano un habitat ideale per le farfalle, mentre i muretti a secco ospitano diverse specie di rettili. L’ambiente più caratteristico del parco è sicuramente il bosco di forra, contraddistinto da alta umidità e ombrosità. In queste condizioni prolifera la salamandra pezzata, un anfibio dalla tipica colorazione gialla e nera, e il gambero di fiume, specie a forte rischio di estinzione a causa dell’inquinamento dei corsi d’acqua.

Il tempo previsto per il percorso comprende il tragitto dal parcheggio punto ritrovo fino alla forra , l'accoglienza, prima spiegazione, tragitto fino alla forra , visita alla forra e percorso ad anello per vedere dall'alto la forra ancora attiva . Nel parco della gola del Tinazzo, il percorso è su sentiero sterrato,  prevede la discesa con qualche gradino iniziale e di seguito è pianeggiante. Totale cammino nel parco 15 minuti.

PARK GOLA DEL TINAZZO

Extending over a surface area of more than 20,000 m2, the Tinazzo gorge park offers visitors a fascinating context of floristic and vegetational interest, due to its intricate morphology and the nature of the rock of which it is composed.

Two enormous pillars of more than 40 metres in height, serve as wings at the entrance of the gorge along which hundreds of millions of cubic metres of sand and rock reached Lake Iseo transported by the impetuous force of the waters of the Borlezza stream.

While of limited size, the park features a rich variety of settings, each of which is home to special fauna. The coppice, dominated by hornbeam and manna-ash trees, is home to the most typical specimens of pre-Alpine fauna, such as roe deer, foxes, beech-martens, badgers, hares, squirrels, dormice and many species of birds. The terraced meadows cultivated with olive trees are the perfect home for butterflies while the dry walls are the habitat of diverse reptiles. The most characteristic part of the park is surely the ravine wood, distinguished by high levels of humidity and shadiness. The fire salamander, an amphibian with its typical yellow and black colours, and crayfish, a greatly endangered species due to pollution in watercourses, flourish in these conditions.

The estimated time for the route includes the journey from the car park, meeting point to the gorge, welcome, first explanation, journey to the gorge, visit to the gorge and circular route to see the still active gorge from above.

Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m., no reservations required. Park entrance: Via Corna, 2 Castro, Castro Cemetery parking lot, then continue right on Via Corna for 200 meters.

– visiting groups will be made up of no more than 24 people;

– it is possible for minors to visit the gorge only if accompanied by an adult;

– in the summer it is strongly recommended to have comfortable clothing (long trousers) and to bring insect repellent spray with you;

–.the duration of the visit is 2:15 hours, along a path with some steps and short downhill stretches

Regulation

– it is mandatory to follow the instructions given by the guides;

– rocks, stones, and rocky walls must not be altered in any way; it is forbidden to scratch, engrave, move and smear the rock walls;

– it is not allowed to light fires and leave traces of one’s passage;

– it is not allowed to collect local vegetation;

– it is not allowed to leave waste;

– dogs are not allowed to enter;

– it is mandatory to stay on the path;

– although the gorge is safe, it is mandatory to wear a helmet for access, which will be provided by the organization;

– it is mandatory to wear sneakers; it is not allowed to wear sandals, slippers and flip flops;

– it is mandatory, in the case of nocturnal visits, to show up equipped with faceplates or similar;

– the use of strollers is not allowed;

– toilets are available on site;
