From 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, guests will shadow our staff and interns through various aspects of the day including food prep and feeding, enclosure cleaning and maintenance, enrichment distribution, public education, and any miscellaneous projects for the day.
Every day will present new challenges and opportunities and the tasks you perform will depend on the work planned for that day. We cannot guarantee any specific tasks or opportunities!
As this tour is intended to provide insight into the realities of the animal care field, guests can expect to see and learn about each of our rescues and view the entire facility while gaining hands-on experience in animal husbandry, specifically in a non-profit sanctuary setting.
Please be aware that the terrain in our upper compound can be challenging! People with limited mobility may have difficulty. We are in the process of making that area more accessible to the public, but it will take time! Please contact us to discuss possible accommodations.
