The Suncatcher is our brand new purpose built, twin deck Blyth catamaran, she is the first double decker wildlife boat in New Quay. The top deck offers unparalleled 360 degree views of the stunning welsh coastline and Suncatcher is the first double decker to give passengers the best viewing spot above the wheelhouse. On the main deck there is a wide bow viewing area where you walk right to the edge of the boat which means you can look directly down and see dolphins bow riding at your feet, hear them whistle and even get smashed by them. Suncatcher really is the best dolphin spotting boat in town. We also serve hot and cold snacks and refreshments from the indoor shelter deck and there is a private WC on board too.
The Suncatcher offers 1.5hour trips departing daily from the main pier of the picturesque village of New Quay. She has less trips available due to tidal limitations, so please check the available times for each day.
Once away from the pier, our experienced skipper and enthusiastic guide will tell you all about our marine wildlife while visiting the local dolphin hot spots. You will have the best chance to spot marine wildlife life including Atlantic grey seals, harbour porpoise and of course, some of our many resident bottlenose dolphins. While looking for dolphins you will travel south along the coast, passing birds rock, the caves and seals bay. Depending on the wildlife encounters you will reach Cwmtydu before heading back. The 1.5 hour trip offers a greater amount of the protected sea area and gives you longer to spot wildlife.
