About This Adventure

Experience the magic of Goldendale Reindeer on an intimate small-group tour that invites you to connect with these magnificent animals. Enjoy engaging introductions, personal interactions, and a relaxed atmosphere where curiosity thrives. Create lasting memories while appreciating the beauty of nature, all in a family-run farm setting.

At Goldendale Reindeer, we believe in creating experiences that matter—ones that make you slow down, breathe a little deeper, and connect with something real. Our reindeer experience tour isn’t just another stop on a weekend itinerary—it’s a chance to step into a quieter world, where curiosity and connection take center stage.

We offer one small-group tour most Saturdays, ensuring that every guest gets an unhurried, intimate visit. We’re a family-run farm that values relationships over rush.

Your tour begins in our hand-built timber frame barn with Reindeer Rumination Time—an engaging introduction to these incredible animals. You'll learn everything from antlers to hooves, and what makes reindeer so unique and special. We take time to answer questions, dive into fun facts, and make sure everyone—from kids to curious adults—feels welcome and included.

Next, we’ll step into the pasture to interact directly with our reindeer herd. You'll have the opportunity to get up close, observe their personalities, and maybe even share a nose nuzzle or two.

Tours last about 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the group. We don’t set a timer or rush anyone away. It’s important to us that guests feel relaxed, engaged, and free to explore at their own pace.

What truly sets us apart is our commitment to offering a relational experience. We want our guests to leave feeling like friends, carrying with them the joy of a once-in-a-lifetime encounter, and maybe a renewed appreciation for the natural world and time spent away from screens.

This is your chance to create foundational memories, share quiet moments with incredible animals, and enjoy something refreshingly different.

It is always windy in Goldendale - come prepared for the wind. Goldendale has four seasons, including snow in winter, and hot temperatures in summer. Dress for the seasons and please wear closed toe shoes.

A word about pets - pets are not allowed on our property. Dogs are the biggest predator for reindeer and our livestock guardian dogs will naturally act in a protective way when faced with unfamiliar animals.

SHEEP AND GOATS CARRY AN AIRBORNE SPORE THAT CAN KILL REINDEER. PLEASE AVOID ALL CONTACT WITH SHEEP AND GOATS PRIOR TO YOUR VISIT, WEAR FRESHLY LAUNDERED CLOTHING AND CLEAN SHOES FOR YOUR GOLDENDALE REINDEER EXPERIENCE.

Upon arrival to the farm, you will be asked about any recent contact with sheep and goats, and all hands and shoes will be sanitized prior to entry into the reindeer experience. Don’t forget your cameras, photos are encouraged!
