On your 90 minute tour your Guide will show you Slave cabins A Freedmen’s Church detach kitchen and outbuildings a 1790 owner’s house and a Memorial built to honor the enslaved. Whitney plantation is the only plantation Museum in Louisiana with an exclusive focus on the lives of enslaved people.

The Whitney plantation is located about 70 miles or about one hour and 10 minutes from the French Quarter. The pick up begins at 8:00 AM AND 8:30 AM The ground transportation service will be done through our sister company, Crescent City Tours & Transportation. The driver goes hotel to hotel for the pick up service. We ask that you allow us up to 30 minutes for the pick up service.
As a result of COVID-19 The Whitney Plantation will be a self guided tour with auto headset until further notice.
The Airboat Tour leaves the dock at about 2:00 pm and returns about 3:45 pm. On this tour, you will enjoy a fully narrated swamp tour by one of our local captains in the comfort of an Airboat. You will enjoy close encounters with swamp life as you learn about what it is like to live in the Louisiana swamps. You will return to your hotel around 4:45 pm depending on traffic.
