About
The ‘Wildlife and Corryvreckan’ is our most frequently run trip capturing not only the tidal flow of the Corryvreckan but also exploring our local wildlife hot spots. The tour is a round trip venturing around the island of Scarba (weather permitting) and providing spectacular views of the rugged landscape.
Highlights
- As well as seeing the wonder of the whirlpool, this trip usually offers great wild life; sea eagles, porpoise, golden eagles and sometimes minke whales and dolphins.
- The maelstrom of water that lies 300 yards off the shore of Scarba on the north west side of the gulf is caused by an underwater ridge of rock, which rises to a pinnacle whose top reaches to within 30 metres of the surface; which is an effect of the tide race that causes the whirlpool when there are slack tides.

Our start times vary due to the tide, therefore we will communicate the exact departure time to you 24 hours before departure. We ask that passengers arrive 10 minutes before departure so we can leave promptly.
