Guided Tour- Students will get a guided experience of our outdoor sea turtle hospital and meet our patients. Students will also get the opportunity to explore real biofacts of sea turtles.
Animal Adaptations- Students will learn about adaptations and why they are so important for the survival of sea turtles. In this activity, students will get hands on practice of how an animal would need to adapt if they were placed into different ecosystems.
Sea Turtle Scientist- Students will get the inside scoop on our cutting-edge sea turtle research and rehabilitation techniques. Using briefings from our veterinary team, students will follow the intake process for a new sea turtle patient and discover what techniques our veterinarians use to monitor our patients.
Coastal Trek- Students will be guided along the Juno Dunes Natural Area paved trail and immersed in several coastal ecosystems while learning about the plants and animals that live there. Students will use careful observation and learn about why we want to keep nature natural.
Discovering Food Webs- Food Chains vs Food Webs, what’s the difference? In this hands-on activity, students will create their own food chain in groups and see how their food chain might be impacted by different natural and manmade problems.
Animal Classification Adventure- Reptiles, Amphibians, Mammals, Fishes, Birds, oh my! In this hands-on activity, student will learn about the different classifications of our vertebrate animals and how each of them has special characteristics that help them survive in their environment.
