About

Have a close-up encounter with our echidna and learn some fascinating facts about this unique animal from one of our keepers. See the echidna’s long tongue as you assist with their daily feeding and see how intelligent they are. You will also be assisting the keepers in maintaining the echidna’s training, which is important to ensure our animals have choice in volunteering desired behaviours, encouraged with positive reinforcement. A truly special experience with a very curious critter!

You can take as many photos as you like on your own devices.

This experience is limited to 2 people per session.

Please Note: Entry to the echidna experience habitat involves a step down. Please advise admissions staff upon arrival if you have limited mobility so we can accommodate you. Please check-in 15 minutes before the scheduled experience time.

NOTE: Animal Interactions are an additional purchase upon Animal Park entry. Please ensure that Maru Entry tickets are purchased in addition to the Echidna Experience.

Other Information

• All interactions are at the keepers discretion and may be unavailable in extreme weather conditions to ensure the welfare and safety of our animals and visitors. If Maru cancels the experience for any reason, an alternative experience or full refund will be offered.
• Animals at Maru have the freedom to choose if and how they interact with visitors during experiences, so up close touching and feeding usually occurs but is not guaranteed.
• All tickets require the Credit/Debit Card along with photo ID and signature of the purchaser, or a valid company email/voucher to be presented upon arrival, otherwise entry will be refused.

Terms & Conditions It is important that you arrive early as the experience will not be delayed and will start at the advertised time. If you are late you will miss out on the experience and refunds will not be provided. Please dress appropriately for the forecast weather on the day. The Keepers have the right to cancel this and all animal experiences due to extreme weather or any other situation they feel may compromise the safety and welfare of the animals and visitors and in that instance a different experience may be offered or a full refund. For safety please wear closed in shoes, no thongs or sandals.
