We will meet up at Savage Farms in Historic Old Town Wailuku. You will be greeted with herbal tea made from wild plants combined with those grown on our Farm, as well as a light pūpū (Hawaiian for appetizer). Tucked on a cliff overlooking 'Īao Valley and the ocean, you will learn to identify wild foods plants, considerations around how to ethically harvest, tips and tricks for processing and preparation, ecosystem awareness, along with a general sense of wonder at the profound gift of wild foods. We will also see many native and endemic plants (found in Hawai'i and nowhere else in the world), as well as Hawaiian canoe crops.
If you would like to experience a multi-course wild food themed meal, check the box when signing up. Lunch is always a highlight, with a meal that includes wild, organic, and locally grown foods. Allergies and preferences are accommodated.
