A private car slips away from Dublin's Georgian streets and soon the air changes: cooler, greener, edged with peat smoke and spruce. The Wicklow Mountains open like a slow panorama — rounded ridgelines, peat bogs that push back underfoot and a river that seems to dare you to follow its course. Stops are measured and deliberate: Powerscourt’s formal terraces, the dark bowl of Lough Tay, and a waterfall dropping through forest in a clean, cinematic fall.
