A predawn convoy leaves Cairo and the asphalt thins into endless sand. Wind-carved ridgelines slip past the windows, and by midafternoon you stand beneath the chalk sculptures of the White Desert — alien pillars lit by a low, golden sun. Night brings an unfiltered sky; stars seem close enough to touch while a single campfire throws long shadows across the campsite.
