Du Fleuve is a marine tourism operator based in Les Escoumins, Québec, specializing in wildlife cruises and coastal transfers along the St. Lawrence River. The company operates whale-watching cruises that run approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, offering sightings of whales, seals, and seabirds from zodiac boats and providing hydrophone audio of underwater life. Du Fleuve also runs a 2.5-hour bird-watching cruise led by Renaud Pintiaux during migration seasons, aimed at both novice and experienced birders. Photography workshops with Jocelyn Praud combine classroom instruction and on-water practice; sessions include theory followed by a zodiac cruise to photograph marine mammals and migratory birds.
In addition to tours, Du Fleuve provides a shuttle service between its office and the Escoumins ferry dock using a cozy 20-seat mini bus with daily departures. Operations emphasize small groups, respectful wildlife viewing practices, and informative crew-led experiences. Safety briefings, experienced skippers, and a focus on minimizing environmental impact are part of the standard program. Booking is recommended in advance, especially during peak migration and whale seasons. Locations and schedules are centered on Les Escoumins and the surrounding Saint Lawrence estuary, where local currents and migration routes make marine wildlife abundant.
