What to bring

Sailing with Polco is a carefree trip. You only need to bring your personal belongings; swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, hat, and glasses to protect from the strong Greek sun, and your cellphone/camera.

Our yachts are fully equipped with snorkeling gear but if you have your own mask and flippers you are welcome to bring them.

Early or late in the season, a light windproof jacket might help to warm you up when the sun starts dropping.

Detailed description

Starting from Adamantas, the first part of our trip consists of sightseeing in the bay of Adamantas. Sailing close to the east coast of the bay, we will pass the first Christian catacombs and the colorful village of Klima, where the statue of Venus de Milo was discovered. While you take beautiful photos you can also learn some historical facts and myths about the island, as a part of our guided tour. We will then reach the ‘Arkoudes’, the impressive 20ft bear-shaped rocks at the entrance of the bay to the east.

With the wind in our sails, we will reach Cape Vani. This impressive 30-meter tall rock that marks the west entrance of the bay was home to one of the first mineral mines of Milos. After seeing the old 19th-century mines quay, we will have our first 20-minute swim at the bay of Kalogries in crystal clear turquoise waters.

Following our swim and some delicious snacks we set sail for Sykia, the biggest and most impressive cave of Milos where we will spend 1 hour. We anchor in the clear green waters of a bay nearby for a swim and take our dinghy to visit the cave. Once back on the boat, refreshments, ice-cold beers, and our traditional ouzo will be waiting for us accompanied by some delicious snacks.

The next stop is Kleftiko; the old pirates-lair where we will spend around two hours. This unique complex of tall limestone rocks is one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world! Snorkeling here is an amazing experience. We provide you with masks, flippers, and a few tips on what you can do and let you swim and explore. We will then take our dinghy and go explore the unique, diverse beauty of Kleftiko caves and take pictures. Getting back to the boat a delicious meal will be waiting for us.

We then will start making our way back to Adamas port, provided there is time, we will make a short 15-minute swim stop at the bay of Agios Dimitrios with a beautiful view of the Milos caldera.

Cruise itineraries are subject to change depending on weather conditions and at the discretion of the captain.

In case of strong north winds, we will start the cruise from the south side of Milos. Transfer to and from the port of Adamas is offered and included in the price.

In the case of south winds, we will sail the north side of Milos and visit the inaccessible beaches of Kimolos & Poliegos.

Adventure Tips

Bring sun protection

Even on cloudy days, the Aegean sun can be intense—pack sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses.

Wear water shoes

Rocky shorelines and boat surfaces mean sturdy, slip-resistant water shoes improve comfort and safety.

Hydrate throughout the cruise

Though snacks and drinks are provided, having extra water on hand helps prevent dehydration in the heat.

Secure your belongings

Keep electronics and valuables in waterproof bags or leave them ashore to avoid damage.
