3 Hour Pizza Walk
Rated #1 Food/Drink Tour in Chicago (TripAdvisor). Meet your tour leader at Lou Malnati’s (1235 W. Randolph St.), a 7-minute drive from The Loop. They’ll be wearing a black “Pizza City USA” shirt. You’ll check in (please be prompt, as we have a lot of pizza to get to!) then visit three more pizzerias showcasing a total of four different styles of pizza. (Note: soda, beer and wine are not included in ticket price).
Our tours are based on the book, "Pizza City, USA" - Highlights include a traditional Chicago deep-dish, an only-in-Chicago Roman al taglio, a classic Neapolitan and either a spicy Sicilian or an old school stuffed and tavern style. Included in your tour price is a seasoned dough-cent who will teach you about Chicago's 10 styles of pizza and share some history about Chicago and its pizza culture; you'll also learn more about the history of the West Loop and meet some of the characters, including the owner of a legendary Italian grocery store. A custom souvenir lanyard and badge are included so you can track all of the pizzerias on your tour and tag them on Instagram.
You'll be strolling through the West Loop for several hours, so comfortable footwear is essential.
Stay hydrated during the tour, especially on warmer days or if you plan to visit multiple pizzerias.
Outdoor walking tours are affected by weather, so dress accordingly and plan for rain or shine.
Private tours are popular; arriving a few minutes early ensures a smooth start.
The West Loop was once home to wholesale food markets and meatpacking plants, which transformed into a vibrant culinary hub.
