The Mount Washington Valley in New Hampshire is known for its rugged peaks and scenic wilderness corridors, and the Welch-Dickey Loop offers access to two standout summits: Welch Mountain (2,605 feet) and Dickey Mountain (2,734 feet). This 4.5-mile trail, carved through exposed ledges and dense northern hardwood forests, delivers expansive views of the White Mountains and the surrounding valley below. It’s here that SUP YO has crafted a distinctive outdoor offering - the Welch-Dickey Loop Yoga Hike. This experience blends a guided six-hour trek with a mountain-top yoga session, marrying physical exertion and mindful breathing with the raw energy of nature.

Participants set off from the trailhead near Thornton, NH, winding upward through fir and birch stands, spotting mountain laurel and unexpected wildflowers depending on the season. The trail’s granite ledges offer multiple vantage points, where panoramic sights stretch to neighboring peaks, deep valleys, and the Mount Washington massif itself. After the ascent, the journey culminates with an invigorating yoga practice at the summits, allowing hikers to lengthen muscles and center the mind amidst the fresh alpine air.

What sets SUP YO apart in this well-visited area is the intentional combination of dynamic movement and restorative pause. This isn’t just a hike or a yoga class—it’s a holistic adventure designed to meet the body and mind in an immersive natural setting. It provides valuable respite from the busy tourist routes while emphasizing respectful use under a permit from the White Mountain National Forest Service.

With a focus on sustainable outdoor recreation, SUP YO encourages visitors to tread lightly and absorb the historical essence of these mountains, a region beloved for generations by hikers, climbers, and nature seekers alike. Whether you’re a local or traveler, this yoga hike is a rare chance to connect more deeply with one of New England’s most scenic trail systems.

The business runs 75-minute SUP Yoga sessions — including Rise & Shine and Sunset SUP Yoga — that blend traditional yoga with stand up paddleboarding to build balance, core strength, and focused breathing while practicing on the water. Rise & Shine SUP Yoga classes are limited to just 10 participants to maintain an intimate, focused setting.

SUP YO also offers 60-minute Sunset Paddles and seasonal Full Moon Paddles (June through September). Sunset Paddles include provided stand-up paddleboards and beginner instruction, and guests are invited to bring snacks and drinks on board. Full Moon Paddles use Torch paddles for evening illumination and encourage glow accessories for a unique nighttime experience. Combo packages pair a 75-minute SUP Yoga class with a 60-minute sunset or Boston Harbor paddle, with all required equipment supplied for combo bookings.

Outside Seabrook, SUP YO operates Boston Harbor paddles departing near Fort Point Pier and a one-hour Kids Paddleboarding Lesson in North Chelmsford, MA that teaches paddling techniques, equipment care, and includes games and swimming in a rain-or-shine format. Sessions are designed for all skill levels and include beginner instruction where noted, with small class sizes and clear session formats to make paddleboarding and SUP Yoga accessible and enjoyable for coastal visitors and local paddlers.
