Thank you for choosing Summa Love! We hope your child has a wonderful experience with us. Our #1 priority is SAFETY. We have been in business for over 20 years due to our passion for coaching, safety precautions and well being of our students. Summa Love instructors will teach our students balance with stable body placement on a surfboard, paddling, standing, etiquette, open ocean safety, safe ways to fall and how to ride a wave. Each day students will progress at their own level with a low pressure, fun and safe surfing atmosphere. With proper instruction from our teachers, students will gain confidence, ocean safety experience and learn the fundamentals of surfing at a rapid pace! Our Long Branch location full week surf camp includes low student to instructor ratios, all equipment including boards/wetsuits/leashes, goodie bag, t-shirt, pizza party on Friday and high res surf photo with free download on our website. We ask for full week sign ups to be spaced out Monday-Friday each week.
Please check in with us at the red cones everyday by drop off, always wear rash guard we will provide during surf hours, always listen to the instructor, reapply sunblock after lunch, stay hydrated, never leave to go to bathroom or lunch without supervision from staff or parent, always stay near tents with instructor supervision. When leaving, please wait with staff at boardwalk until pick up from parent/guardian. If a student has a hard top surfboard, a protective nose guard must always be on the board for safety. Parents/guardians please park in a legal parking spot if you plan on staying for the day.
Scheduling – Students who sign up for a week come to camp consecutively for the week, M-F. Due to limited availability and operating only during the summer season, we do not issue make ups or refunds if students can not make a specific day of their designated M-F camp week. If we cancel a specific camp date, our designated make ups will be the first Sunday morning after the cancellation. *If you can not make the designated make up date, you will lose the day completely. No make ups will be permitted outside of the designated make up camp date. Please check our full cancellation policy.
Warm dry clothes, sun block, water, dry towel, sandals, bathing suit, rash guard, phone (not required) and lunch Monday-Thursday. We supply extra rash guards, extra sun block, pizza on Fridays, wetsuits and surfboards.
We have red cones on the right side of south bath ave closer to boardwalk where we have staff check kids in and out. If you are planning on staying for the day, please park on south bath ave or boardwalk street. If no parking is available and you are planning on staying for the day, there is additional parking on second ave across the street from ocean ave.
Check tide schedules before heading out to maximize safe surfing time during low to mid tides.
Consider reef booties to protect your feet from rocky areas common near Long Branch beaches.
Bring plenty of water and sunscreen to protect yourself during long hours on the beach.
