Weekend Goat Snuggles in Martintown: Hands-On Farm Time with Goats, Pigs & Chickens

Weekend Goat Snuggles is a hands-on farm experience at 4640 Will Bill Road in Martintown, Ontario. On weekend mornings and afternoons the farm opens its Snuggle Fields, where visitors can relax among friendly Nigerian dwarf and mixed-breed goats, meet pot-bellied pigs, and toss a few coins into the chicken feed dispenser for a feathered frenzy. The set is a sunlit grassy field marked by the farm’s giant sign and a small Farm Shop where you check in before wandering the pasture. The appeal is immediate: soft goat fur under your palm, curious noses investigating pockets, and laughter as kids pose for goofy selfies with a goat perched at knee height. Far from a petting zoo, this is a working hobby farm that emphasizes gentle handling—no chasing, no climbing on fences, and closed-toe shoes recommended—so interactions feel relaxed and respectful. Accessibility is a feature: the Snuggle Fields are stroller- and wheelchair-accessible, letting multi-generational groups join the fun. Bring a picnic, a camera, and a sense of humor; your selected arrival time is your start time, and you can stay until the farm closes at 2:00 PM. Practical details are straightforward: check in at the Farm Shop, wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little “goaty” love on, and have quarters for chicken feed. Young children must be accompanied by an adult, and pets aren’t permitted to keep stress low for the animals. What makes this outing unique in the Martintown landscape is its combination of intimate animal encounters and a low-key rural setting that feels distinctly Eastern Ontario—open pastures framed by working fields rather than manicured attractions. It’s a place to slow down, let noisy city habits fall away, and connect with a handful of animals that really want attention. Photographers will enjoy close-range portraits and candid family shots; educators and caretakers will appreciate the farm’s clear rules and emphasis on animal welfare. Weekend Goat Snuggles is an ideal short escape for families, couples, or small groups looking for a cheerful, hands-on rural experience without a long drive. It’s an invitation to trade screens for animal giggles, learn a bit about small-scale farm life, and leave with stories (and maybe a few muddy shoes) that stick long after the pasture grass has been cleaned from the soles. Plan to reserve in advance through the farm’s booking portal; spots fill up fast on sunny weekends. Arrive a few minutes early to find parking and check in at the Farm Shop. Bring wipes for sticky fingers, a lightweight jacket for breezy afternoons, and patience if a goat decides your shoe is interesting. Whether you’re after a relaxed afternoon or a quick photo session, this local outing makes big, lasting memories, truly worth repeating.
