More ways to explore the area's outdoor wonders

You step off the van into a narrow, green cleft of the Cerro de la Silla massif and the river immediately announces itself—cool, insistent, and eager to carry you forward. The trail slides between scrub and volcanic outcrops, then gives way to a short canyon where the current dares you into waist-deep crossings before a low cave opens to a shelf of grey stone and a view back over Monterrey.
