Join us for an amazing week of paddling in the warm tropical waters of la Huasteca Potosina.
Day 1: ( D) Arrive and overnight in Tampico, Tamaulipus, Mexico. Welcome Dinner.
Day 2: (B, L, HH, D) Depart Tampico for our base at Aldea Huasteca. Warm up paddle on the Lower Micos River Class 2). Overnight "glamping" at our base Aldea Huasteca. (Accommodations are in Bohios which are Yurt like with fan, linens and 2 double beds).
Day 3: (B, L, HH, D) Paddle the Cascadas de Micos, a spectacular series of travertine waterfalls Class 3/4).
Day 4: (B, L, HH, D) Paddle the Lower Naranjo river featuring spectacularly beautiful turquoise water and fun travertine drops Class (2/3).
Day 5: (B, L, HH, D) Paddle the Rio Tampaon (5th canyon of the Santa Maria). A day of fun river running featuring the unique "Puente de Dios" (Class 3).
Day 6: (B, L, HH, D) Paddle the Rio Ojo Frio. A jungle clad river with a combination of river running and drops (Class 3/3+). Afternoon visit to Selva Teenek a private wildlife centre (UMA) specializing in the protection and rehabilitation of large cats (Jaguars, Puma, Lynx, Jaguarundi) as well as Mexico's only centre dedicated to Ant Eaters.
Day 7: (B, L, HH, D) Paddle the El Salto Section of the Naranjo River. El Salto has a series of waterfalls including the 8m Iluminoso Waterfall (Class 3/4+).
Day 8: (B, D). After breakfast transfer back to Tampico (lunch on your own). Enjoy a final group dinner in Tampico.
