About Perfect for an afternoon of romance, our boats have been the scene of many a first date or proposal…but they are also a great choice for a family outing too.
Duration 1.5 Hours
More info Rowing boats are a popular choice for families with children, as they are sturdy and stable and there is plenty of opportunity to help row, but also to rest and enjoy the ride. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times and if older children take out their own boat, an adult must stay within a minutes row of their boat.
Rowing boats are suitable for small children - assuming there is a parent to row, and a parent to hold the child. Short sessions are advised for first trips out - speak to our staff for advice. We will carefully risk assess on the day, the current and forecasted weather, lake conditions and abilities, to ensure the safety of all customers. If the activity you have booked cannot proceed, then we will offer an alternative activity or a refund. If you wish to discuss your family's requirements in advance of booking, please give us a call or send us an email.
What to bring On hot sunny days, we advise sunglasses, a hat, sun tan lotion and a bottle of water.
On cold days, warm, waterproof and windproof clothing is advised and a blanket for your passengers can be very welcomed.
A picnic is a popular choice on a rowing boat…or pick up a bag of scones or cakes from the cafe and take them with you.
Dress in layers to stay comfortable regardless of weather, especially near the water.
Make sure to review weather conditions before heading out to ensure safety.
Use sunscreen and wear a hat to protect yourself from UV rays during the activity.
Getting to the marina a bit before your booking allows for a relaxed start.
