Join the Community Boating Center and Shifting Gears for empowering outdoor experiences on Bellingham Bay! Enjoy a variety of programs, from evening paddles to sailing lessons, all designed for women. No experience is needed, and financial assistance is available, ensuring everyone can participate in this inclusive adventure.

Celebrate women in the outdoors!

The Community Boating Center and Shifting Gears have come together to offer these opportunities to get women on Bellingham Bay! Each of these programs has a tiered pricing system so you can select the option that works best for you.

We do not want cost to be a barrier from participation, our scholarship program can be found here.

Programs:

  • Weekly Evening Paddles *registration opens on Wednesdays for the following week!
  • Wild Women Gathering - A day to sample our various boats and play on the bay
  • Beginner Keelboat Sailing
  • Beginner Dinghy Sailing
  • Evening Sail on Bellingham Bay
  • Bioluminescence Paddle
  • Essentials of Sea Kayaking
  • Rescues and Recoveries

Experience is not necessary, but be ready to be out on the water most of the time!


Shifting Gears is a local organization striving to empower all women through outdoor recreation and education opportunities to remove barriers and foster belonging.
