With the only upriver launch point available to the public, enjoy a serene adventure while taking in the natural scenery. Reservations are required for this unforgettable outdoor experience.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Return transportation for private vessels is available. Select the ride back option when booking if you wish to take out at the 2.8 mile state takeout location and have you and your boat transported back to the park.

Rides back to the park are an additional $5/person and must be selected on the next page.

Experience

  • Utilize our upstream kayak launch ramp to enjoy a relaxing down-river paddle.
  • Courtesy carts are available to transport your boat from your vehicle to the ramp. These carts are limited and first-come, first-served.
  • You will be responsible for your own transportation back to Weeki Wachee Springs State Park if you do not wish to opt in to return transport and take out at the 2.8 mile mark.
  • Private launches may take out at a public ramp such as Rogers Park (5.5 miles) at their own expense. Returning to the launch ramp by water is not permitted. Taking out at our retrieval ramp with a personal vehicle is not allowed, as there is not public vehicle access to the takeout point.

Duration

  • Guests may complete their journey at their own pace. Please be aware that the kayaking gate closes at 5:00PM.

Policies

  • Must be 18+ to book. Ages 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Disposable items and alcohol are not permitted to be taken onto the Weeki Wachee River. This includes any item that is single-use (plastic waterbottles, plastic bags, candy wrappers, papers, foils, etc), so please pack accordingly. Reusable food and drink containers should be used alternatively. Bags will be checked before departure, and these items will have to be returned to your vehicle or disposed of. Thank you for helping us keep the river beautiful!
  • Pets are not permitted to launch from the State Park. Only legal service animals are allowed, not emotional support pets.
  • Please make it a point to be on time for your reservation. Reservations more than 15 minutes late will be cancelled and will not be eligible for a refund. If you are going to be late, give us a call at 352-597-8484, and we will do our best to assist. Our ramp closes promptly 30 minutes after last rental availability, and we cannot launch any additional boats after this time.
  • Swimming or exiting your boat is not allowed on State Park property.
  • Only kayaks and canoes are allowed to launch. Motor boats, jon boats, rafts, or tubes are not permitted. Inflatable USCG-certified kayaks may launch with prior staff authorization.
  • WFA cannot allow overloaded (people or weight per manufacture specs) boats or boats without proper safety gear (ample life jackets and a sound-producing device) to launch.

Weeki Freshwater Adventures provides the only upriver launch point to the Weeki Wachee available to the general public. Enjoy a relaxing down-river paddle on one of Florida's most gorgeous waterways, but remember, reservations are required!
