About

The Divemaster course will push you in all aspects of scuba diving. You will expand your knowledge of dive theory, dive setup and management, demonstration skills and leadership abilities.

More Info

Take your diving career to the next level; in this private, intensive course, you will learn to supervise dive activities, assist with scuba classes, and hone your leadership and demonstration skills. The Divemaster course is the first step in your professional diving career. Learning within a private course structure, not only do you have full control over your course schedule, you will learn more and push yourself further as our owner and IDC Staff Instructor will work directly with you as you look toward a career as a dive instructor!

Knowledge Development: You will receive the Divemaster crew pack which will include eLearning materials, manuals, PADI instruction guide, and information for your Divemaster final exam at the completion of your course.

Dive Skills and Drills: Throughout the course, you will assist in scuba certification classes, give dive briefings, perform demonstrations for students, and plan/lead guided ocean dives.

Complete 5 Skill Exercises: Dive Setup and Management exercise, underwater mapping project, search and recovery scenario, deep dive scenario, and underwater gear exchange test.

Swim Fitness Test: You will complete a series of swimming tests to prove your competency in the water. These include a timed 400 yard swim, timed 800 yard snorkel swim, timed 100 yard diver tow, and a 15 min water tread.

Real World Experience: Once all of your private Divemaster-specific training is done to satisfactory levels, you will begin your class audits by working with real students in real classes. You will assist instructors in pools and in the ocean, demonstrate dive skills for students, lead dive briefings, set dive floats, manage dive gear, and truly master what it takes to help run a quality PADI certification course. This portion of the Divemaster certification does not have a set timeframe, but rather is executed on until the instructor is confident in your abilities to represent yourself as a PADI professional.

This course will focus on your training first, where attaining your certification card comes second. Course timelines take a minimum of one month (heavy diving), up to three months (intermittent diving) depending on student schedule and performance.

Private Cost includes private instruction directly with our Chief Staff Instructor, Divemaster processing fees, air fills, full gear for all sessions (if not already obtained).

PLEASE NOTE: The only thing NOT included in price is the PADI eLearning materials, which can be purchased directly on the PADI website with easy to follow instructions from us!
