From April on you can enjoy the trip across St Brides Bay to Skomer Island (Ynys Sgomer in Welsh). Depart from St Justinian's and enjoy the stunning scenery during the two-hour sail to Skomer, we observe the numerous birds in north haven before heading back to Ramsey sound. There are 10,000 pairs of puffins on the Island, and you’ll love watching their antics, along with Manx Shearwaters, guillemots, cormorants, razorbills, gannets and more. Look out for seals sunning themselves on the rocks, and porpoises, too. You might be lucky and spot a pod of dolphins playing in the waves.
You’ll definitely want to bring your camera and take endless photos to remind you of this amazing experience.
Skomer itself is well worth seeing. Located just off the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast, you’ll find dramatic, sheer cliffs, gorgeous bays and beaches, and, in Spring, a full carpet of nodding bluebells and campions across the whole island for a sight you’ll never forget.
Our skipper is highly experienced and knowledgeable, and these fun and entertaining trips are ideal if you’d like to learn more about the coast and Skomer Island, as well as the wildlife. School visits are more than welcome, too, and your kids will love learning all about the birds, seals and porpoises. Or simply sit back, relax and take in the experience of being out at sea with all the amazing sights. Perfect for all the family, schools, couples, and solo bookings, you can even bring your dog along to join in the fun.
We offer free parking at our booking office while you’re enjoying your boat trip, and we provide a free minibus to take you to and from the office and the boat. Please Maximise your cars seating capacity when using our car park, as vehicle parking spaces are limited. Thank you!
The sea is unpredictable, and we may experience swells during the trip. If you suffer from motion sickness or sea sickness, please consider whether this is the trip for you. You may wish to consult your doctor or a pharmacist to get suitable medication to ensure a more pleasant trip.
It’ll be colder and wet out there, even on hot, sunny days! Wear comfortable, warm and waterproof clothing - layers are best then you can adjust to suit the weather conditions - and shoes and trousers that you don’t mind getting wet. You might also want to bring along a spare set of clothing to change into after your trip.
You can bring cameras, binoculars and other valuables at your own risk, but please bring them in a protective, waterproof bag and use the attached straps to prevent loss overboard.
Don’t forget your sunscreen! Sun and windburn are very real possibilities if you don’t protect your skin. We want you to have wonderful memories of your trip, not painful ones, so please wear your sunscreen.
