Woebegone workshops are fun, educational and immersive. Equip your child to enjoy our ocean backyard safely and learn essential life saving skills for the South Coast.
This workshop will be focusing on ocean confidence, safety & awareness. We will be covering swimming skills building up to the ability to use a mask, snorkel and fins. Kids will be learning how to equalise their ears and duck dive. **Kids will be divided up into small groups depending on their experience levels.
**No snorkelling experience is required, however we ask that kids can swim and comfortably float by themself in the ocean.
Equipment required will be a wetsuit, mask/snorkel and fins. If kids do not have their own- we have it all available to hire.
Ensure kids have well-fitting masks and snorkels to maintain comfort and safety underwater.
Teach children how to hold their breath comfortably before entering the water to build freediving confidence.
Keep children within safe, shallow areas where supervision is easy and conditions are calm.
Kids should use reef-safe sunscreen and wear rash guards to prevent sunburn during outdoor sessions.
Jervis Bay has been a gathering place for the Yuin people for thousands of years, with rich cultural connections to the sea.
The workshop promotes reef-safe sun practices and education on protecting local marine ecosystems.
A comfortable mask helps kids see clearly and enjoy snorkeling sessions safely.
