Embark on a captivating 1.5-hour night boat trip to Ramsey Island, where you’ll witness the breathtaking return of Manx Shearwaters to their nesting grounds. If you’re an ornithology enthusiast or just love getting out on the water, you can’t do better than our entertaining and educational night boat trips in the summer to see the incredible and intriguing Manx Shearwaters on Ramsey Island. The Shearwater is an amazing bird that spends its days out on the water, flying just ten metres above the ocean, before returning to Ramsey Island at night to nest, often using burrows dug by rabbits.

It’s an amazing sight watching the Shearwaters returning home to Ramsey Island in the evenings and , by boat, you can experience the dramatic, unforgettable beauty of the Island, with its spectacular coastline, towering cliffs, sweeping hills, heather covered moorland and stunning bays and coves, along with the ever changing mood and landscape of the sea itself.

At other times of the year, when the Shearwaters have migrated all the way to the South Atlantic, you can enjoy the ocean at sunset or a sky full of stars, for an atmospheric and exhilarating trip of a lifetime.

This is a full and exciting boat trip of one and a half hours with plenty of time for you to take in the amazing views and take endless photographs to remind you of your time on board. There’s a lot to learn and enjoy about Ramsey Island and the local wildlife and so much to see on your trip that we promise you’ll never forget the experience.

We offer free parking at our booking office while you’re enjoying your boat trip, and we provide a free minibus to take you to and from the office and the boat. Please Maximise your cars seating capacity when using our car park, as vehicle parking spaces are limited. |Thank you!

Important to Know

The sea is unpredictable, and we may experience swells during the trip. If you suffer from motion sickness or sea sickness, please consider whether this is the trip for you. You may wish to consult your doctor or a pharmacist to get suitable medication to ensure a more pleasant trip.

It’ll be colder and wet out there, even on hot, sunny days! Wear comfortable, warm and waterproof clothing - layers are best then you can adjust to suit the weather conditions - and shoes and trousers that you don’t mind getting wet. You might also want to bring along a spare set of clothing to change into after your trip.

You can bring cameras, binoculars and other valuables at your own risk, but please bring them in a protective, waterproof bag and use the attached straps to prevent loss overboard.

Don’t forget your sunscreen! Sun and windburn are very real possibilities if you don’t protect your skin. We want you to have wonderful memories of your trip, not painful ones, so please wear your sunscreen.
